As Restaurants and Hotels install more and more tankless water heaters they are taking advantage of one of the best gas products available. With lower operating costs, continuos hot water, space savings, cleaner water supply, longer equipment life, to name a few benefits.

The only deficiency we see in the marketing of this product is the failure to inform the customer that the heaters require some maintenance, especially with our hard water here in Florida. The units need to be flushed annually to minimize the accumulation of lime and calcium deposits. Without this service the heaters will accumulate deposits, reducing the heaters efficiency, eventually affecting its operation and even causing heat exchange failures (leaks).

Note: when caused by lime and calcium build-ups these heat exchanger failures are not covered under the manufacturers warranty. Thus a product with an excellent 5 year heat exchanger warranty (commercial) and expected 11 - 12 year service life can be compromised with failures often seen as soon as 2 -3 years of service.
